50 Important Turkish Verbs – 1

Here are the most common Turkish verbs for beginners:

To do, to make

Word Example

Annem bana kek yaptı.

My mom made me a cake.

To go

Her gün yürüyerek okula gidiyorum.

Every day I go to school walking.

To come

Word Example

Dün akşam teyzem evimize geldi.

Last evening my aunt came to our house.

To be

Word Example

Büyüyünce doktor olacağım.

I’m going to be a doctor when I grow up.

To buy, to receive

Word Example

Ahmet arkadaşından hediye aldı.

Ahmet received a present from his friend.

To give

Word Example

Dilenciye 10 lira verdi.

He gave the beggar 10 liras.

To love

Word Example

Yavru pandaları çok severim.

I really love baby pandas.

To wake up

Word Example

Selin her sabah saat 8’de uyanır.

Selin wakes up every morning at 8 o’clock.

To sleep

Word Example

Cenk derste hep uyur.

Cenk always sleeps in class.

To eat

Word Example

Öğle yemeğinde hamburger yedim.

I ate hamburger at lunch.

Word Example

Ceylan “bana kalemini versene” dedi.

“Give me your pen” said Ceylan.

Ceylan ona kalemini vermesini söyledi.

Ceylan told him to give his pen to her.

Labirentten çıkmak için sağ dön.
